Anna Petrie, Physiotherapist

Anna Petrie

Physiotherapist (provisional)

Clinic – Currie Center (UNB)

fredericton-physiotherapists
Meet Anna!

Anna is an exercise enthusiast, an academic, worldwide traveler, and a leader with a resilient mindset. Her defining quality is her persistent hard work which has defined the achievements that she has accomplished to date.

Born and raised in Fredericton, Anna graduated top of her class among in the Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology program from the University of New Brunswick in 2018. After graduation Anna worked as the lead research coordinator for the Cardiometabolic Exercise and Lifestyle Laboratory (CELLab) at UNB to implement an older adult fall prevention exercise program in New Brunswick. The following year she returned to Australia, where she had previously completed a UNB Study Abroad term in 2017 in Melbourne, to work as a personal trainer in three different gyms.

During Anna’s travels, her passion to collaboratively help individuals live a healthy and active lifestyle became clear, so she decided to further her education and study to become a physiotherapist. She completed her Master of Science in Physiotherapy from Dalhousie University in 2022.

Anna strongly believes in empowering her clients to take ownership of their health and fitness. She works with clients to create an individualized plan to achieve their goals and to prevent illness, disease, and/or disability. For clients who are currently experiencing acute or chronic conditions, Anna is passionate about working them to create a proper rehabilitation plan.

Anna has extensive experience working with the aging population through her previous employment, volunteerism, and physio placements, and absolutely loves to work with individuals to help combat the challenges that often present with aging. She is a firm believer that one’s age does not define their functional ability and that many of the risk factors for chronic conditions are, in fact, modifiable.

Outside of the clinic, you can guarantee Anna is exercising — whether in the gym lifting weights, running outside, attending yoga classes with her friends, or leading a HIIT class at Sweat Club. Anna is a huge animal lover and loves travelling the world with family and friends.

Meet Jordan!

Jordan received a Bachelor of Science at UNB where he majored in Biochemistry. Upon graduation, he worked in a lab doing molecular biology, but he felt that something was missing. That something was human interaction. This led him Jordan to pursue a Master of Science in Physiotherapy at Dalhousie University in Halifax. Jordan became a Physiotherapist to pair his love of science with his passion for helping people.

As a Physiotherapist, Jordan values quality dialogue to ensure your questions are answered and that you feel in control of your body and recovery. You can expect a partnership-styled approach to help you stay engaged in the things you love to do.

Lynn Sweeney, Physiotherapist

Lynn Sweeney

Physiotherapist

Clinic – Prospect Street

Meet Lynn!

Lynn Sweeney has an undergraduate degree from the University of New Brunswick, and a Masters degree in Physiotherapy from Western. She is an Honorary Research Associate at the University of New Brunswick and has 10 years experience as a physiotherapist. Lynn’s clinical focus is on pelvic floor physiotherapy and vertigo / vestibular rehabilitation.

After the birth of her first child in 2014, she required pelvic floor physiotherapy. After 9 months of pain, pelvic floor physiotherapy offered her hope and was the solution to her eliminating her pelvic pain.

She was trained and received certification through Pelvic Health Solutions in Toronto to perform internal vaginal and rectal assessments of the pelvic floor.

Once Lynn started practicing pelvic floor physiotherapy in Fredericton, it was evident that this type of physiotherapy filled a void in healthcare for men and women, as she could not keep up with the demand. Max Health Institute & Physiotherapy has since created a space and multi-disciplinary team to meet the needs, in a timely manner, for those seeking resolution for their pelvic health issues.

Lynn continues to travel to Toronto for pelvic health courses and seeks mentorship from specialists in the field from around North America. Her care focuses on treating the following in men and women:

Women: Pregnancy pain, postpartum care and recovery, C-section rehabilitation, pain with sex, prolapse, urinary frequency and urgency, incontinence, endometriosis related pain, vaginismus, vulvodynia, interstitial cystitis, painful bladder syndrome, menopause, tail bone pain.

Men: Chronic prostatitis, post prostatectomy rehabilitation, urinary frequency and urgency, erectile dysfunction, incontinence, tailbone pain, testicular and penile pain.

Outside of work Lynn enjoys spending time with her husband and 3 kids, exploring New Brunswick hiking trails, and keeping active.

This has allowed Quinn to become a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapy (FCAMPT), one of only a handful in NB, as well as better evaluate and integrate the latest research into this treatment.

Quinn enjoys helping his patients speed their recovery and better understand their condition through education and activity. At the end of the day, the patient needs to feel empowered to help get themselves better.

In his spare time, Quinn is also on the Board of Directors for the New Physiotherapy Association and enjoys taking courses in Concussion Management, Dry Needling/Acupuncture, Vestibular Rehabilitation, and various specific joint-related courses. Hobbies include drinking coffee, playing volleyball, walking and running with his dog, Flash, as well as attempting to play guitar!

Cameron DuPlessis, Physiotherapist

Cameron DuPlessis

Physiotherapist

Clinic – Currie Center (UNB)

fredericton-physiotherapist
Meet Cam!

Cameron started his post-secondary education by pursuing a BScKin at the University of New Brunswick. After volunteering at the Stan Cassidy Centre for Rehabilitation in Fredericton, he developed a strong interest in pursuing an education in physiotherapy.

It was at Stan Cassidy where he saw first-hand how a multi-disciplinary approach to patient care laid the groundwork for some incredible stories of recovery and healing. It also showed him another aspect of the benefits of exercise in promoting and maintaining a person’s health and physical function that he had not truly considered before.

Cameron was accepted into the MSc. PT program at Dalhousie University in 2011 and enjoyed every aspect of his physiotherapy studies while in Halifax. After completing his PT degree in October of 2013, Cameron started working as a physiotherapist at a multi-disciplinary sports medicine clinic in Alberta, and later, was able to pursue contract work with Alpine Canada Alpin and the Canadian Ski Cross Team, which he continues with today. His clinical interests are in the areas of orthopedic and athletic injury management, as well as concussion rehabilitation. He uses an education and exercise-based approach to help his clients and tries to include hands-on or manual techniques into his treatment as much as possible.

Fun fact: Cameron is fluently bilingual (English and French) and is a graduate of École Sainte-Anne (2007).

Originally from Fredericton, Cam and his wife returned to NB in 2017, and he was excited to join the multi-disciplinary team at Max Health Institute & Physiotherapy in the spring of 2020 (with some unexpected delays due to COVID-19).

When not in the clinic, Cameron can be found spending time with his wife, young toddler, and their dog – usually skiing, hiking, running, walking, or cycling.
